Why you can't just multiply or divide by 4
A calendar month is longer than 4 weeks - there are 52 weeks in a year, not 48, so the correct multiplier is 52 ÷ 12 (≈ 4.33), not 4. If you convert £150 PW into monthly by simply ×4, you'd land on £600 - £50 a month short of the real figure, £650. Over a year, that's a £600 miscalculation.

How do I convert weekly rent to monthly rent?
Multiply the weekly amount by 52, then divide by 12 (or multiply by roughly 4.33). For example, £200 PW × 52 ÷ 12 = £867 PCM.
Why isn't it just times 4?
Because a calendar month is longer than 4 weeks on average - there are 52 weeks in a year, not 48. Using ×4 consistently underestimates the true monthly cost.
Is PCM or PW cheaper?
