The Tube's right there (District and Circle lines), so getting anywhere in London's easy. Chelsea's residents tend to be a bit more established — people with jobs they care about, into design or creative work — but it's not stuffy. You'll find housemates who go for weekend brunches, like a good park (the Thames Path is on your doorstep), and appreciate nice things without being precious about them.

It's a bit pricier than some neighbourhoods, but you're paying for the location and the quality of life. Good if you want somewhere that feels solid, connected, and genuinely pleasant to live in.
