Glossary / Let agreed

What does let agreed mean?

"Let agreed" means a landlord has provisionally agreed to rent the property to a tenant, but contracts haven't been signed yet - the landlord or agent is still running referencing and checks.

What this means if you're searching for a room: a property marked "let agreed" is very likely off the market, even though it might still be visible in search results for a while. It's not worth enquiring about unless the listing explicitly says they're still taking backup applications.

If you're the one who applied and got a "let agreed" status: this isn't a final guarantee - referencing can still fall through. Don't give notice on your current place or stop looking until contracts are actually signed.

Why this term matters on listings sites: it's the standard status used across the industry (Rightmove, Zoopla, SpareRoom all use it), so clear, consistent status language helps people who are used to searching elsewhere.
